Putting maps on the web means more than just embedding. The data should reveal itself quickly and effectively, without the distraction of a map that's too flashy or lacks a clean design. Grafa uses a variety of tools for styling maps for the web such as TileMill, CSS3, and Cloudmade Styles. Rest assured that the data will be clear, concise, and legible.

GIS and Beyond


Cartography is our specialty but we shine with GIS (Geographic Information Systems). Since 1995, our application experience has ranged from remote sensing packages such as Erdas, to GPS application design tools like Trimble's Pathfinder and ESRI's ArcPad. We currently use ERSI ArcGIS, Spatial Analyst, QGIS, and a host of open source tools to "get to done".

Data Wrangling


Do the words like "squirrely" or "spaghetti" describe your data? It's never too late to get control of your data. Utilizing tools such as Google Refine and ScraperWiki, Grafa can bring data back to life in cleaner, more open formats.
